Alice and an Airbender

So, I found some stills for upcoming 2010 movies I'm very exited about. Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland and M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender (based on the Nickelodeon show, Avatar: The Last Airbender).

Alice in Wonderland looks really trippy; set in the perfect mad dreamland as the books. Johnny Depp is playing the Mad Hatter, which I'm quite excited about. Alice is played by a 19 year old actress, Mia Wasikowska. She seems quite perfect for the role to me. Supposedly, this adaption is taking place in Alice's teen years after the events in 'Through the Looking Glass'. Helena Bonham Carter and Anne Hathway have both been cast to play Queens. The costumes are brilliant from what I've seen from my sneaking around the internet and I hope to be in a movie theater March 5th when the film is coming out.

As for The Last Airbender, I'm truly excited that it's being made into a movie. Last summer, watching Avatar was like my thing at lunchtime and I was so disappointed when the final movie came out (I loved it, but I didn't want it to end!) Casting choices have been getting a lot of flack, however, and I don't blame anyone for wanting to protest the choices. White actors are portraying Asian and Inuit characters, or at least, the original show seemed to be heavily influenced by Asian culture, though placed in a fantasy world, so what the characters true ethnic group is really debatable. I'm not taking a side until after I've seen the movie, (or at least figured out what is fact and what is rumor) because I can't be certain who is actually in this movie. I mean, first it was Jesse McCartney playing Zuko and now it's Dev Patel. Who knows what's real and what isn't? (Alice's world isn't so different from our own, it appears...)

Falling Rocks

Love - a wildly misunderstood although highly desirable malfunction of the heart which weakens the brain, causes eyes to sparkle, cheeks to glow, blood pressure to rise and the lips to pucker. -Anonymous

Wild and Free

All good things are wild, and free.

----------------------
I went to the zoo on Thursday with my best friend, Elise. There was a chimpanzee sucking on ice, tiny monkeys grooming each other, two reptiles that have been at the zoo as long as I've been alive and are bigger then me now, and a sleeping red panda named Toby.

I bought a stuffed red panda before we left and named it Toby, just as a memory of our adventure. My legs are still sore.

Note: If anyone has sources for the pictures I use, please share! I'd love to give credit! I get most of these pictures from weheartit.com and I can't really find who to give credit to.

Seventeen is Just as Sweet

So my 17th birthday was May 28th. I didn't have my party until that weekend and now I've been much to lazy about putting pictures up. It was a costume party and I was a faery. A faery queen to be exact. You don't see my crown in any of these pictures, but it's implied. :D

My court was made of a naughty school girl and teacher, the devil with huge boobs, a sultry pirate, a Hawaiian girl, a crazy fan girl, and my friend Mylynn as herself (opps!).

I forgot to take pictures of the our outdoor setting, so I will have to leave it to your imagination. There were floating butterflies and dangling lanterns and excellent food.

I don't know if 18 can top this?

Love and Butterflies!
