Songs and Sprinklers in the Sun

I stayed home from school today sick. I went out while my dad watered the backyard. Our dog locked us out. It is a long, strange story.

The weather cleared my head. It reminded me so much of spring, with the sun and the damp grass. I love Texas when it's days like these. February and I was out in shorts.

My dad and I sang songs for two hours out in the sun until my mom came home and let us in.
